About their life

Vladimír Knybel was the long-time head of the Nicolaus Copernicus observatory in Třinec, an amateur archaeologist and photographer who dedicated his life to discovering the history of Třinec. He presented the image of Třinec before the creation of the modern city in the pictorial publication "In the shadow of the smelter". In 2009, he received the City of Třinec Award for his collection of photographs from Třinec.
