About their life

Tim Bergling, known to the world as Avicii, started producing music in his Stockholm bedroom as a teenager. By 22, Levels had made him one of the most recognisable sounds on the planet; Wake Me Up became one of the most-streamed songs of its decade.

He fused folk, country and house music in ways nobody had dared, and headlined every major festival in the world — while privately struggling with the pressures that came with it. His openness about anxiety and exhaustion started conversations the industry needed to have.

Tim died on 20 April 2018, at 28. His family founded the Tim Bergling Foundation to support mental health and suicide prevention. His melodies — bright, hopeful, enormous — remain exactly that.

Tim Bergling brought melody back to dance music and became one of the defining artists of a generation before his life ended far too soon.
