About their life

Uwe Seeler was a German football player and later official. During his playing days he was considered one of the best center forwards in the world. Seeler played for Hamburger SV throughout his career and is considered the “greatest HSVer of all time” and one of the greatest legends of German football. In the 1963/64 season he was the first top scorer in the Bundesliga. As captain of the German national team, he was runner-up in the 1966 World Cup and came third at the 1970 World Cup. Because of his services to German football, the DFB made him the second player to be named honorary captain of the national team in 1972. In 2003 Seeler was made an honorary citizen of his hometown.
