About their life

Muhammad Dhafer bin Hassan bin Hamz Al-Madani is a Maliki jurist and Maghreb Sufi from the nineteenth century AD/thirteenth century AH. He was born in Misrata in the Ottoman Empire of Tripoli, then lived in Medina and was attributed to it. He settled as sheikh of Zawiyat al-Shadhliyya in Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire, and died there. He was closely related to Sultan Abdul Hamid II. He has several books and treatises on Sufism, rituals, and dhikr.
