Marie-Laure Picat is a French writer known for having, before dying of cancer, searched in her town of residence for a host family for her children, avoiding them having to see their environment recomposed after her death. She told her story in a book, The Courage of a Mother, adapted into a TV film broadcast in 2016 on TF1.
