Lisandro Segovia was an Argentine jurist and essayist. Fundamentally dedicated to Civil Law and Commercial Law, he is remembered for his work on the Civil Code and his draft Code of Commerce, which won a gold medal at the Paris Exposition of 1889. He also stood out for the writing of a Dictionary of "Argentinisms", which was awarded a gold medal at the San Francisco Exhibition in California and which obtained the first prize awarded by the Royal Spanish Academy in the 1904 floral games.
