Elias Al-Ayyubi was a Palestinian-Ottoman historian who lived most of his life in the Egyptian Khedive. He was born in Akka, Palestine, in the state of Syria, and grew up there, then left for Egypt and completed his education there. He headed the translation department in the Egyptian Parliament. He was interested in history and wrote several major books on the history of Egypt. He died in Zahle, Greater Lebanon, at the age of 53.
