Boris Aleksandrovich Turaev is a Russian historian of antiquities, the creator of the national school of history of the Ancient East, in particular, Ancient Egypt and Nubia. Along with Vladimir Semyonovich Golenishchev, he is considered the founder of Egyptology in Russia. Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Petrograd since 1918. Doctor of World History, Professor at St. Petersburg University. The main work is “History of the Ancient East”.
