Aleksandr Gerasimov

Alexander Mikhailovich Gerasimov is a Russian painter of the Silver Age and the first Soviet decades, who worked in Moscow, a follower of the circle of “Russian impressionists”, in the Stalin era - an ideologist of “socialist realism”, a teacher; a master of narrative painting on historical and revolutionary themes, also worked as a portrait and landscape painter, and was engaged in architectural graphics and monumental sculpture.
